I think we can officially say it’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year! Happy Thanksgiving, you guys, and welcome to the latest installment in our challenge series based on the new book by our favorite crafty guy, Tim Holtz!
The Curiosity Crew and I were very much in the holiday spirit this time around, as you’ll see, and this challenge theme is perfect for creating fun, detailed backgrounds for your designs! This is one of several techniques in A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol.3 that utilizes Tim’s Layering Stencils, and they’re such great tools to have in your studio. Go ahead and turn to page 50 in the Compendium, and check out the instructions.
Just a Reminder:
Everyone is welcome to participate in the CC3C, but you must work from your personal copy of the Compendium. The Crew will not be posting technique instructions on our blogs, and participants must not, either. We require this out of respect and appreciation for all the work Tim invested in writing the book. If you don’t have a copy, you can order one directly from Tim, who will be glad to autograph it for you! If you have any questions about the challenge in general, check out the CC3C F.A.Q. here.
Please, please be sure to read and heed the rules listed in the Inlinkz link-up at the end of this post before you submit your piece. We don’t have a lot of rules, but those we do have are important, and entrants that don’t follow them will be disqualified.
Win a Box of Goodies from Tim and Mario!
As always, we’ll select a “Curiosity Crew’s Choice” winner who will receive an awesome assortment Tim’s products, courtesy of Tim himself and Mario Rossi, his spectacular Logistics Director and everyone’s favorite “Behind the Scenes” social media superstar (follow Mario on Instagram for sneak peeks of Tim’s latest projects)! To be eligible to win, you must visit each of our team members’ blogs and leave a comment there. You can easily access their blogs by clicking on their project photos (your comment on this post counts as your comment on my blog).
The Funkie Junkie Boutique is back to sponsor Challenge 16, and lovely owner Linda Coughlin has a fabulous $25 shopping spree to one very lucky CC3Cer! For a chance to win, link your project here and link to The Funkie Junkie Boutique in your blog post!
Okay, here’s what the Crew did with those Layering Stencils. We hope our projects inspire you!
By the way, just because most of us went with a holiday theme doesn’t mean you have to. Go where your inspiration leads!
Have a great couple of weeks, blog friends! And, if you took part in Challenge 15, remember to check back here next weekend to see if you’re a winner.
