Over at the Gingersnap Creations blog, we’re celebrating an arty supply staple that every girl and craft-savvy guy can totally appreciate: Charms!
I’ve loved charms since I was a little girl enamored with my mom’s silver charm bracelet. My favorite was a ponytailed girl’s silhouette with my name engraved on it, and my little kid brain just sort of worked out that it came into the world with me (via stork or reed basket or wherever my little kid brain thought I came from). These days, I pounce on every cool charm I can find, but have a put together my own bracelet yet? Um, no.
I do love using charm in my crafting work, though.
I have no idea why the old Fleetwood Mac song, “The Chain,” popped into my head when I sat down to work on this challenge, but I figured I’d take any inspiration I could get and borrowed some lyrics. I printed them from my inkjet onto white cardstock, then added the old Acey Deucey image (I’m so sorry, I don’t know the title of this unmounted stamp!). I airbrushed it lightly with soft pastel Copic markers, the added the chain and charms, attaching them with Tim Holtz long fasteners and little silver wires. The purple marbled background paper has been in my stash since shortly after the Big Bang.
Yes, I’m that old.
This Gingersnap Creations Spicy Supply Challenge is open through March 6, and we all hope you’ll join us in this utterly… (here it comes)… charming challenge!
